Hello friends,
Today I am discussing Google Slidesssss. In class this week we were presented two presentations. One with text only, and the other with text and pictures. Personally, I benefit from the use of images when it comes to learning because I am a visual or kinesthetic learner. I tend to zone out reading or easily become confused by instructions. If I get a new piece of furniture I never read the text on the building instructions, I only follow the images.
I think pictures add more aesthetic to the presentation, and make it usable for all types of learners. However, it is important that the text matches the images and it is clear and concise. You do not want to confuse the learner by giving them text instructions that do not go with the corresponding images.
I have never used the speaker notes on a presentation before. I assume that if you're presenting a topic you must be confident in your expert knowledge, and you can go off slides as well. If you're someone that get's nervous for presentations or you want to remember to emphasize key points the speaker notes could be used to supplement you.
I think that Google Slides is a great tool to use in Education. Especially since you can easily log into your account and bring up the presentation anywhere. It would be a great tool for students to learn how to create presentations on, and work in groups from multiple devices.
From my experience Google Slides is more user friendly, and group work friendly, than Microsoft PowerPoint. I do wish that it had more creative options available. My favourite presentation tool is Prezi due to its creative formatting options.

Hey Kianna!
ReplyDeleteI also agree with your thoughts on Google slides incorporating more creative options. I believe that if they had the same visuals and customization as Prezi, it'd be the best application for presentations.
